BREAKING: The Washington Commanders will face the Indianapolis Colts Week 4 in London
The Commanders are going international once again, and they finally have their date and oppenents locked in.
Last year, the Washington Commanders traveled to Madrid, Spain, to face the Miami Dolphins, and it was a trip well-received by the fan base.
This season, the Commanders are headed to London, England, to play in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. We knew they would be playing in Week 4, but we didn’t know who, until now.
The Commanders have an intriguing AFC matchup on deck as they will face the Indianapolis Colts in London, and there will be plenty of storylines around this one.
Get your passports ready early because Week 4 will be here before you know it. The one thing to watch with an early international game will be how it impacts the rest of the Commanders’ schedule. Although it’s not a guarantee, the NFL usually gives a team traveling overseas a bye week the following week to help with traveling.
A Week 5 bye week would be a disaster with a brutal 13-week stretch after that. We can only hope the Commanders play on Thursday night in Week 3 to give them a few extra days, and then play a Monday night game the following week. The NFL will release the rest of its schedule Thursday night at 8 pm, but this is already a fun matchup to watch and a real test early in the season.
Colts vs Commanders matchup
We have no idea what to expect from the Indianapolis Colts in 2026, as they were one of the best teams at the start of last year, but quickly derailed after the Daniel Jones injury. Jones suffered a torn Achilles tendon in Week 14 last season, and reports say he’s somehow well ahead of schedule to be ready by Week 1, and possibly training camp.
This is the biggest storyline to watch because, for whatever reason, Daniel Jones has always given the Commanders trouble when he was with the Giants. This is a different team in Washington as well, however. If Jones isn’t somehow ready by Week 4, the Commanders could face Anthony Richardson or Riley Leonard instead.
Regardless, the Colts have Jonathan Taylor, who dominated last season, and he will be a test to show how improved the Commanders’ run defense is after struggling for the last few seasons.
The Colts also have WR Alec Pierce, who is going to test the new-look secondary in Washington. The Commanders heavily pursued Pierce in free agency and reportedly offered more than the Colts, but he decided to stay where he was, and now he gets to show whether he made the right choice.
Speaking of tests, Jayden Daniels and the offense get to see Sauce Gardner and a secondary without CB Kenny Moore II for the first time in 9 years. The Colts have a lot of underrated players on defense with Cam Bynum and DeForest Buckner, and just drafted safety A.J Haulcy and LB C.J Allen.
The Colts could very well be a playoff team this season, and we get an early look at how the Commanders can stand up to a top team in the AFC.

can't wait for this one as I'll be in attendance, Spurs stadium is on the bucket list so it fits perfectly for me.
Should be a great game as we are expecting to be much better this season
